Description
Jubilee is selling April 11th at the Colorado Horse Sale Women of the West Special Session. Online and telephone bidding is available. Jubilee is a truly exceptional 13-year-old, 14.3 hh leopard Appaloosa molly mule with the kind of presence that stops people in their tracks. She is one of the most striking and memorable mules I have ever had the pleasure of training, and she turns heads everywhere she goes. It is rare to ride her anywhere without someone stopping to compliment her beauty. I started Jubilee under saddle myself, and over the years, we have shared countless adventures together in the mountains, in town, in the desert, and in the arena.
She is an incredibly talented and versatile mule who has been exposed to a wide variety of animals, machinery, terrain, and real-world situations. Jubilee has experience packing, ponying other animals (including youngsters), ranch work, arena work, obstacle courses, and extensive trail riding. She has a great handle and the kind of ability that makes her comfortable in many different jobs. She is extremely surefooted, with excellent hooves, and has always been kept barefoot without any issues. Jubilee has excellent ground manners, is easy to tack, and she stands quietly tied. She loads well in the trailer and is the mule I can always count on to squeeze in last when the trailer is full. In the years I have owned her, Jubilee has never been unsound and has remained healthy and dependable. She gets along well with other animals, is good with dogs, and typically sits comfortably in the middle of the herd hierarchy.
Jubilee is like a fine wine—she only gets better with time. There has never been a task I’ve asked her to take on that she hasn’t completed. She learns quickly and approaches new challenges with confidence. While Jubilee has been ridden by a variety of people and is not a one-person mule, she is best suited for an intermediate or advanced rider. Jubilee has nervous energy at times and excels when she has a confident leader who will support and direct her. With a confident and capable rider, you will not find a finer mule. Finally, she does not like shots, but we can help her buyers with methods to give her injections. Her purchase includes a complimentary weekend of training with us at West Elk Equine so her new owner can get to know her and feel confident continuing her education. We also welcome potential buyers to come ride and spend time with her before the sale. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions—we love talking mules.
