Betty is a gorgeous black appaloosa molly mule filly. She adores people and she is so sassy and affectionate. She may not look like an appaloosa now but stay tuned for her color change. She already has some white hairs in her coat. Her dam is a few spot appaloosa and Betty was born with striped hooves and white sclera. She will roan out because her dam is homozygous LP and she carries the LP gene. Betty was imprinted at birth and is already leading and halter trained.
George is a lovely black mammoth donkey colt out of our jennet Ruth and a lovely sorrel jack named Fast Track. We purchased Ruth in foal and Ruth produced a healthy, friendly and beautiful little jack. Ruth is 15hh and Fast Track is 14hh so George should mature to a nice height for riding. George loves people and was handled from the moment he entered the world. George was sold the day he was born to our friends Jennifer and Charles Lundeby. Our foals sell very quickly so make sure to contact us right away if you see one you can’t live without. Ruth will be bred to our jack Lake Nowhere Judah this spring.
Black Rocky Mountain Mare born March 28, 2008 out of Double Take by Yankee Clipper. Since her dam is a daughter of Maple’s Squirrel, and her sire is a son of Yankee, Doublelicious is a double great granddaughter of Tobe, she has a very RARE pedigree! Other notables in her pedigree include Cheek’s Rocky, Choco Dock, King Tutt, Honey, Black Squirrel, Bay Beauty, & Dot-O-White. Doublelicious AKA Cinder has a sweet and gentle disposition, with an exceptionally smooth gait that allows her to move like the wind. We renamed he Cinder because the name Doublelicious struck us the wrong way. We don’t look at a horse and think, man she looks delicious!
Shadow is a lovely black Rocky Mountain colt with exceptional breeding and beautiful markings. He has three white socks and a star. We are having him color tested to see if he is a smokey black like his mother. His dam is out of Double Take by Yankee Clipper. His sire is a son of Spanish Sundown, out of a Rocky Mountain Rogue(Johnson’s Tobe X Foxie Roxie) mare. Cowboy’s 2007 son, TOO MUCH is a breeding stallion in Switzerland producing fine Rocky/Kentucky Mountain Horses of all color in Europe. Shadow was imprinted directly after birth and has been handled daily. Like all our foals he will be halter broke, pick up his feet, load in a trailer, he with pony, and he will be very friendly and desensitized to many stimuli by the time he is weaned and goes to his new home.
This stunning colt hit the ground gaiting and he comes from excellent bloodlines. His color and markings are beyond beautiful and he is going to make someone a gorgeous gelding or an exceptional stud. His dam is 16hh and his sire is 14.3hh so we expect him to mature over 15hh. He has been handled since birth and will be available at weaning in December just in time for Christmas. He will pick up his feet, be halter broke, load in a trailer and will be very friendly. Both his dam and sire have excellent dispositions and are very naturally gaited.
June is a lovely sorrel appaloosa molly mule sired by our lovely foundation few spot appaloosa mare Nova and the famous champion jack Clyde’s Gallant Fox. This molly mule filly came out of the womb friendly and drop dead gorgeous. Her markings are unique and absolutely beautiful, she is very athletic already, and has a great conformation. Her disposition is lovely and she has been handled daily since birth. When she is weaned and ready to go to her new home she will load in a trailer, pick up her feet nicely, be halter trained, and pony. She will be desensitized to multiple stimuli and be a friendly calm foal.
Her sire Clyde’s Gallant Fox AKA Ted has now won NASMA High Point Open Donkey SIX times! He is a THREE time High Point Winner at Bishop Mule Days and holds Superior titles in EIGHT events! In 2016 he was inducted into the Bishop Mule Days Hall of Fame. He also earned a Reserve World Championship at the 2015 Western Dressage World Show competing against horses! June’s dam Secret Blanca Jewel AKA “Nova” is a sorrel fewspot who is 90% foundation and FPD eligible. The pedigree on Blanca is a strong one, going back to great foundation horses such as Colida, Prince Plaudit and more modern show horse lines such as Dreamfinder, The Secret and Charicature. She is also a very calm mare with a lovely disposition that does not fall into the normal crazy appaloosa stereotypes. She is very easy to handle and loves people which is key in producing a friendly foal.
Ruby- SOLD to Julie Horsch and Dave Glenn in Wyoming
Ruby is a 9 year old 15hh stunning sorrel mule with white stockings, an dun stripe down her back, white on her tail, and lots of chrome. She is touch control, has a one rein neck rein, she has a great motor, great brakes, and a nice disposition. She is good with her ears, and good for the farrier. She backs up very well, has a nice lope, and very smooth trot. Her color and conformation are to die for. She has been used to work cattle, trail rides beautifully, packs, and crosses water. She is the type of mule that generally makes you walk after her for a couple minutes before being caught but we would definitely not classify her as difficult to catch.
She did have a minor coronary band injury that causes one hoof to grow thicker below the scar. She will always grow a thicker hoof there and because of this regular hoof care is important. We spoke with her original owner and he said this was caused by a barbed wire injury when she was young and had never caused any lameness. Both her veterinarian and farrier agree that with regular hoof maintenance this injury should not cause any lameness and will be cosmetic.
We initially sold her to a family with kids and she was not a good fit for them as she took advantage of the kids by testing her boundaries and trying to get away with doing things her way. She was great for the adults and she has been great with all ability riders on her other than complete beginners. With her lovely handle and experienced rider will enjoy this mule much more than a beginner anyway. Even after 6 months post purchase we agreed to trade them another mule that would be a better fit for them. That is how committed we are to our animals and our clients.
